It has been a couple of years since my matric dance but I still remember that night clearly. It was a magical night and it all started by picking a dress that made me feel like a princess. Pickedresses has a variety of different dress styles to help make every girl feel like a princess on her prom night.
Pickedresses caters for girls who want simple dress, bold dresses, short and long dresses. The styles are available in a range of different colours as well.
I remember sitting with my mom trying to decide what my dress would be. As much as I wanted a greek style dress I ended up with a champagne coloured Cinderella dress. It was strapless and had diamantes body on the top half. My partner wore a black suit with a matching champagne coloured tip.
If I had a second chance at a prom night then these are some of the styles I would consider...
I love the high slit and A-line silhouette of the dress. The top of the dress is fitted to accentuate your waist with a ruched bottom to allow you to move freely on the dance floor. The strappy back adds a fun feel to the dress.
This is a more conservative look for those who love a simple lace look. I like the A-line silhoutte with the scoop neck detail and chiffon bottom. This is part of Pickedresses sweet and flow collection.
This dress has an angelic feel to it with the transparent net and embroidery on the lining. This is an a-line v-neck open-back sleeveless dress. It has a zip on the reverse and the dress is made of tulle and lace. The dress is very flowy to ensure that your movements are not restricted on the dance floor. I would pair this with a dainty hand chain and thin drop earrings to emphasis the flow of the dress.
Cinderella's Ball Gown
This is a beautiful off-the-shoulder ball gown that is available in a variety of colours but there is something about this blush shade that screams vintage elegance. The embellished belt and deep V-neck adds a hint of detail to the dress without taking away too much of attention to the style. My favourite feature has the be the inclusion of pockets. It is such a great idea as you will be able to keep your lipstick/gloss or cellphone with you without having to worry about a bag or if it is safe on the table whilst you are on the dance floor.
Bold and Beautiful
I seem to be gravitating towards a-lines and v-necks. This is another dress with the same cut style. I picked the deep blue colour as it added more boldness to the lace detail. I would pair this with gold jewelry. The dress is made of tulle and chiffon, and is embellished with appliques lace and a split front.
I hope you like my selection of dresses and I would love to know which dress is your favourite. Personally I would not purchase a dress online as my body shape is not the easiest to work with. If you have ever been brave enough to purchase a dress for an event of this magnitude then please let me know your experience in the comments below.
