I have never been a fan of toners or any other product in the same category. However, the Avene thermal spring water is a dose of freshness and has changed my entire attitude towards face mists. If you are looking for an anti-irritating, soothing mist then keep on reading…

Over the past year, I noticed Avene products flooding social media. Their thermal spring water featured in almost every blogger feed but the word toner water made me scroll past the comments. This continued until a fellow blogger messaged the group to say that she posted a review on Avene products. I then received a message from my friend praising the product and I knew I had no choice but to try it out myself.
Avene is a Parisian skincare brand based on water. The thermal spring water was formulated to be suitable to those who have sensitive, hypersensitive, and intolerant skin. It is a gentle formula that was developed to bring comfort to sensitive skin.
According to Avene, the thermal spring water has a unique and constant composition that gives it soothing and anti-irritating properties which have been proven by numerous scientific studies.
The Avene thermal spring water is a multi-purpose product. It can be used in the following ways:-
To complete makeup removal
After hair removal
After a surgical procedure
Damaged skin
After exercise
During travel
Diaper rash
Facial redness

I have been using this product for the past five months. I particularly love using it immediately after I visited my beautician to do my waxing. I have been using it religiously this past winter, every morning straight after my shower, before applying my moisturiser. I feel that it helps rehydrate my skin as I have very dry skin.

I did stop for three days just to see if there was any difference. I noticed that my pores around my T-zone and cheeks we visible again. I then resumed with the Avene mist and my pores were not as visible.

I also use this as a setting spray or a primer whenever I am lazy to fetch my makeup setting spray. I love the extra boost of hydration it adds to my skin.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this product and I look forward to trying out more products by Avene. This is definitely a new staple in my skincare regime and a product a will continuously be repurchasing.

Avene can be purchased from Dischem Pharmacy and Clicks for R139.99. If I am not mistaken, Clicks is currently having a 3 for 2 special on Avene products.

What face mist are you currently using and have you ever tried Avene before? If so, please leave a comment on a product you recommend so that I can try it out as well.

  1. wow!
    This sounds absolutely amazing!

I truly am a setting spray/ refresher spray addict. So I'm glad it can be used as that too.
My favorite this past winter was the SMASHBOX priming water. It hydrates my skin so well.
I used it before makeup, after makeup and as a refresher.

    1. I have not tried that before but I am really keen to do so, thanks for the recommendation!

  2. Sounds like an awesome product. I've been thinking about trying a setting spray..

  3. Best thermal water ever. Purchased a 300ml bottle last month for R180 at Dischem. It's huge and should last me a while

  4. This is a good one. Great for skin irritations and eczema for me.

I am currently using the Elizabeth Arden 8hr hydrating mist and also the one from Pink Cosmetics.
